- Help state and local agencies be more responsive to your needs.
- Help to make changes for the better, for yourself and your family, for your friends and neighbors--right where you live.

How does it work?
Beginning in the fall of 2003, the Futures Forum brought together people from all areas of your community. Together they studied your community, discussed its needs, identified the most important ones, and planned for ways to address them.
The Futures Forum also provides the plan for the work Extension will do in your county over the next five years. The information gathered is being shared with other agencies and organizations, too.
The Futures Forum will help you and your neighbors make sure the work of your state and local agencies is focused on your needs, the things that really matter to you and your community.
A little background on the Texas Community Futures Forum
The Futures Forum is a planning process facilitated by AgriLife Extension Service, bringing together partners in county government, state agencies, organizations, businesses, and other groups.
It began with citizen forums to gather information on local needs. Next, focus forums set priorities for addressing those needs. From these needs and priorities, Extension, partner groups, and local residents are organizing action teams.
