Course Information
There are many factors to consider when deciding what to do with your property as a new landowner. This course introduces new landowners to the potential uses of their new property and basic land management strategies to accomplish their goals. You will also learn about resources and services agency professionals provide and how to locate local staff members for assistance.

Course Outline
Module 1: Managing for Wildlife
Learn about the characteristics of white-tailed deer, quail, and largemouth bass and the habitat requirements for each species.
Module 2: Managing for Livestock
Learn how to raise livestock herds according to your desired operational goals.
Module 3: Managing for Forages
Learn about the different types of grasses and forages and how to maintain them. You will also learn how to identify harmful insect pests and invasive weeds and how to manage them.
Module 4: Managing for Sustainability
Discover habitat management, watershed stewardship, and wild pig management. Learn how to protect your water bodies and practice responsible watershed stewardship.

An aerobic septic system, or aerobic treatment unit (ATU), uses oxygen to breakdown both dissolved and solid constituents into gases, cell mass, and non-degradable material contained in wastewater. This online course will teach you how to properly maintain and operate your ATU. You will have 30 days from the day you register to complete this program. If you do not complete the program within this limit, your registration will expire, and you will need to pay the registration fees again to start over.
