What is Battleground to Breaking Ground?

Battleground to Breaking Ground (BGBG) consists of several program tracks developed for active-duty military, military veterans, their families, and the general public who are new/beginning farmers or ranchers to assist them in starting or enhancing a production agriculture business. The program offers online business planning courses, hands-on training and mentoring, and online agriculture production courses for the Skills Training Program, Traditional, and Condensed Programs. It also offers tracks that offer introduction to agriculture type workshops through the Introduction to Agriculture Business online course and the in-person Boot Camp.

BEFORE you enroll in this course to complete the application, please watch the BattleGround to Breaking Ground Overview video to understand the commitment required to participate in BGBG.

This application is to waive the $1,000 tuition for the BattleGround to Breaking Ground Traditional/Condensed Program.

Participants will read the Program Introduction, Program Expectations, Program Agreement, and complete 3 quizzes that cover the program introduction, program expectations, and program agreement as well as complete a BGBG Traditional/Condensed Program Application and submit 3 Letters of Support.

If you wish to participate in BGBG and prefer to skip the application process, you can go directly to the BattleGround to Breaking Ground Condensed online course and enroll. Tuition payment is required at the time of enrollment.

We also offer a Skills Training Program for transitioning military.
