Overview

This four-course aquatic vegetation series provides landowners and pesticide applicators biological information for submerged, algae, floating, and emergent species of problematic aquatic plants found in Texas.

Course Series Information

Each course explores biological, mechanical, and chemical strategies to control specific species. Completing all four courses provides four hours of IPM CEU credit from the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA).

  1. Aquatic Vegetation Management Basics
  2. Algae and Floating Aquatic Plant Identification and Control
  3. Submerged Aquatic Plant Identification and Control
  4. Emergent Aquatic Plant Identification and Control

Applicator Recertification Requirements

  • Commercial/Noncommercial Applicators: Section 7.24 (t)(2) of the Texas Pesticide Laws and Regulations relating to commercial/noncommercial applicator recertification states 'A commercial or noncommercial applicator may not re-certify their license using department-approved correspondence activities for two consecutive years.'
  • Private Applicators: Section 7.24 (v)(5) of the Texas Pesticide Laws and Regulations relating to private applicator recertification states 'A private applicator may not obtain more than 10 CEUs through correspondence activities in any five-year recertification cycle."
