Puede ayudarlos a recuperarse mas rapidamente y de forma mas completa mediante el reconocimiento de los sintomas del trauma psicologico y la toma de medidas para aliviar su estres. Los investigadores han demostrado que cuanto, mas expuesto este un superviviente a los efectos de un desastre, mayores seran sus reacciones posteriores. La muerte de un miembro de la familia, la perdida de la casa y la destruccion de una comunidad son acontecimientos muy estresantes. En cada uno de ellos, el dolor y el trauma se entrelazan.
