Course Information
Child care providers have a great influence on what infants and toddlers see, hear, touch, taste, feel, and smell while children are in their care. Since children learn through their experiences, it is important that the environments to which they have access are safe, responsive, and meaningful.
This 2-hour online course is designed to help teachers:
- Identify characteristics of an appropriate physical environment for infants and toddlers.
- Describe the importance of indoor and outdoor play.
- Identify ways to support literacy and language development in the early learning environment.
- Describe the importance of relationships in the learning environment.
- Create individualized, age-appropriate schedules and lesson plans.
This training course was developed and produced by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service of the Texas A&M University System in cooperation with the Texas Health and Human Services, Child Care Licensing Division, and using funds provided by the Texas Workforce Commission.
