This course covers building and physical premises safety. One of the most important responsibilities of infant and toddler caregivers is to keep children safe and healthy. This course is designed to help caregivers identify and remove potential hazards, incorporate healthy practices into the daily routine, and more.

Course Information

One of the most important responsibilities of infant and toddler caregivers is to keep children safe and healthy.

This 2-hour online course is designed to help caregivers:

  • identify and remove potential hazards in infant and toddler environments
  • incorporate healthy practices into the daily routine, especially during activities such as feeding, diaper changing, hand washing, and napping
  • learn to properly clean and sanitize objects and surfaces in the child care environment
  • and handle minor and major emergencies that arise while children are in care.

This course was developed and produced by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service of the Texas A&M University System in cooperation with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, Child Care Licensing Division, and using funds provided under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
