Overview

This course covers building and physical premises safety. One of the most important responsibilities of infant and toddler caregivers is to keep children safe and healthy. This course is designed to help caregivers identify and remove potential hazards, incorporate healthy practices into the daily routine, and more.

Course Information

One of the most important responsibilities of infant and toddler caregivers is to keep children safe and healthy.

This 2-hour online course is designed to help caregivers:

  • Identify and describe practical strategies for creating a safe and healthy environment for infants and toddlers;
  • Identify proper sanitization methods for toys, materials, and surfaces;
  • Identify ways to keep infants and toddlers safe during feeding and rest times;
  • Recognize possible signs of illness in infants and toddlers; and
  • Identify and remove, when possible, potential threats in the early learning environment that could lead to injuries.

This training course was developed and produced by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service of the Texas A&M University System in cooperation with the Texas Health and Human Services, Child Care Licensing Division, and using funds provided by the Texas Workforce Commission.
