Overview

The poultry industry in Texas contributes more than $1.6 billion to the state economy each year. The disease level of a poultry flock may impact the success of the operation. This publication will guide you through the steps to avoiding diseases in your flock.

Disease may cause losses such as the death of birds, condemnation in the processing plant, medication costs. It can also cause less obvious losses like poor growth, poor feed conversion and downgrading.
