Course Information
Building partnerships with parents takes hard work, and it has many rewards.
The purpose of this 2-hour online course is to explore various aspects of building partnerships between early childhood professionals and parents of children with special needs.
During the course, participants will learn about:
- the challenges that may occur when parents have a child with special needs
- effective communication strategies that can be used to build stronger relationships with parents
- ways parents and families can participate in child care programs
- specific strategies for gaining support from parents of children in their programs who do not have disabilities.
This training course was developed and produced by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service of the Texas A&M University System in cooperation with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, Child Care Licensing Division, and using funds provided by the Texas Workforce Commission.
