Overview

This exam is solely for students that are seeking a Veterinary Assistant Certificate. Students must meet the requirements prior to testing. No coursework or curriculum is attached to this exam. This examination is to serve as a measure against a set of industry standards.

To apply to sit for the Veterinary Assistant exam, a minimum of 225 clinical skills hours and completion of the VSCP 100 skills list must be validated by a DVM, RVT, CVT, or LVT and 200 classroom/coursework hours must be validated by an approved educator. A test code will be sent to the identified testing proctor to administer the exam. Students must score a 70% or greater to receive the Veterinary Assistant Certificate. All students regardless of location are eligible for a Veterinary Assistant Certificate.

Who is eligible to take this exam?

Any student that has met the coursework, skills list, and clinical skills hours requirements may take this exam.

Is there a minimum age to take the exam?

Students must be 16 years of age or older on the date of the exam.
