Our statewide network of professional educators leads programs designed for Texans to learn cooking techniques, new recipes and the importance of diet in disease prevention.

The Texas 4-H Family & Community Health Program provides a variety of resources and opportunities to learn about nutrition, interior design, consumer education and more.

Balancing Food & Play (grades 3rd-5th) was developed to address children’s health issues by developing lifelong healthy behaviors through nutrition, physical activity, and family engagement.

Better Living for Texans program provides research and evidence-based nutrition, health and wellness knowledge to empower individuals, families, and communities to make positive changes for healthier lives.

Course

Master Wellness Volunteers help Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service leverage its outreach and education to Texans related to health, nutrition and food safety. Master Wellness Volunteers receive 40-hours of training and serve a 40-hour internship to prepare them to aid in fulfilling the Agency’s mission of helping Texans better their lives.

Course

Eating Well for Healthy Living is a 3-lesson course in which participants learn to reduce stress through meal planning and physical activity, spending less and getting more at the grocery store, and storing and preparing food safely. This course is designed to educate occupational therapy practitioners on how to improve OT services provided to farmers and ranchers with a disability. Modules cover assessment, agriculture tasks, hazard safety, common conditions, ergonomics, assistive technology, modifications, and resources.
