The Blackland Income Growth Conference, the largest conference for Central Texas Blacklands region farmers and ranchers, will be held at an earlier date than in the past. The conference is set for December 13-14, 2016 at the Waco Convention Center located at 100 Washington Ave.
Topics will include information on new technology and cropping methods to boost yields and profits. Julie Borlaug, associate director of the Norman Borlaug Institute for International Agriculture at Texas A&M University in College Station, will be the keynote luncheon speaker on December 13th discussing agriculture sustainability. Borlaug is the granddaughter of the late Dr. Norman Borlaug, Nobel Peace Prize laureate who was considered the father of the Green Revolution.
