The fifth annual Four States Cattle Conference will provide relevant information about how cattle producers can improve operational profitability amid a challenging market.
The conference will be Dec. 14 at the Texas A&M University of Texarkana University Center Building, 7101 University Ave. in Texarkana.

The event begins with registration at 8 a.m. followed by speakers at 8:30 a.m.
The featured speakers include:
- Dr. Vanessa Corriher-Olson, forage specialist – Utilizing Legumes in Pastures.
- Dr. Barry Whitworth, Oklahoma State University Extension Service food animal quality and health specialist – Common Cowherd Health Problems.
- Dr. Derrell Peel, Oklahoma State University Extension Service livestock market economist – Cattle Market Outlook.
- Dr. J.J. Jones, Oklahoma State University Extension Service agricultural economist – Protecting Revenue in Today’s Cattle Market.
- A panel discussion featuring cattle producers from multiple states will follow the speakers.
- Dr. Ryon Walker, Noble Research Institute livestock consultant, will moderate the discussion during which participants will share real-world success stories on genetic management and other production strategies that improved their operations.
Finally, Dr. Brian Triplett, AgriLife Extension agriculture and natural resources agent, Red River County, will wrap up the event and ask for evaluation input.
