A Pecan Grafting Workshop by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will be held April 25 from 8-11:30 a.m. at 12633 Gholson Road in Waco.
Registration starts at 8 a.m. and cost is $10. Participants are encouraged to bring a lawn chair.
Topics and Speakers:
- Tools for grafting and demonstration of grafting techniques, Monte Nesbitt, AgriLife Extension pecan specialist.
- Explanation of the pecan watering program, tree maintenance and pecan spray program for pest, Dan Russell, owner/operator of Russell’s Pecan Orchard and Fine Candy, Waco.
- Presentation on effective control of crow populations, Bob Irving, Texas Crow Patrol.
Pre-registration is requested by April 20 by calling the AgriLife Extension office in McLennan County at 254-757-5180. If payment is made by check, specify the recipient as Ag Program Account and mail to McLennan County Extension Office, 420 N. Sixth Street, Waco, Texas 76701.
