Dr. Fouad Jaber, ecological engineering specialist in Dallas, will deliver an April 25 course on designing, building and maintaining gardens that take maximum advantage of rainwater and stormwater runoff.
The course, Rain Garden: Design, Building and Maintenance from Backyard to Parking Lot, will be in the Azalea Room at Fort Worth Botanic Garden.
“A rain garden is a beautiful landscape feature consisting of a planted shallow depression which collects rainwater runoff from roofs, parking lots and other impervious surfaces,” Jaber said. “Rain gardens can help mitigate problems caused by excess stormwater, like pollution, erosion, flooding and many others.”
The $75 course is open to the public. Landscape architects, engineers, planners, contractors and stormwater professionals are especially encouraged to attend, Jaber said. Register at https://agriliferegister.tamu.edu/garden.
