The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will offer two sessions during this year’s Panhandle Farm and Ranch Management Symposium at the Amarillo Farm and Ranch Show.
The program is set for Nov. 28 in the Grand Plaza of the Amarillo Civic Center, 401 S. Buchanan St. in Amarillo. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. for the morning session and 1:30 p.m. for the afternoon session.
Morning agenda topics will be:
- Aphid Focus on Wheat and Sorghum, Dr. Ed Bynum, AgriLife Extension entomologist, Amarillo.
- Best Management Practices for Corn Mycotoxins (Fumonisin/Aflatoxins), Dr. Jourdan Bell, AgriLife Extension agronomist, Amarillo.
- Laws and Regulations, Levon Harmon, TDA retiree, Tulia.
- Making the Right Decisions Related to Leasing Arrangements, Dr. Tiffany Dowell Lashmet, AgriLife Extension agricultural law specialist, Amarillo.
The afternoon program will be:
- New Technologies Related to Chemigation and Irrigation Efficiencies, Dr. Charles Hillyer, AgriLife Extension irrigation specialist, Amarillo.
- Small Grain Focus – Herbicide Technologies, Genetic Advancements, Future Focus; Dr. Clark Neely, AgriLife Extension state small grains and oilseed specialist, College Station.
- Selecting the Right Varieties to Reach Your Goals; and Advantages of Crop Rotation – weed control, disease and insect suppression, Dr. Calvin Trostle, AgriLife Extension agronomist, Lubbock.
