2024 Texas Panhandle Wildfire Relief Resources
The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service is working through our Extension county agents and Disaster Assessment & Recovery Unit, DAR, to help the residents of the Texas Panhandle who sustained losses as a result of the wildfires beginning February 26, 2024.
Wildfire Relief for the Texas Panhandle is being coordinated through a combination of local and state resources. Our agency will continue to make regular updates to the list of local agricultural resources and contacts below.
Additionally, our agency is coordinating with county judges and local emergency management officials to vet and designate county-specific resources for monetary donations/gifts.

TDA Star Fund
Administered by the Texas Department of Agriculture, the STAR Fund (State of Texas Agriculture Relief Fund) was created solely with monetary donations from private individuals and entities to fund disaster recovery efforts. STAR Fund money may be used to assist farmers, ranchers and agribusiness owners in rebuilding fences, restoring operations and paying for other agricultural disaster relief.
Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association Disaster Relief Fund
TSCRA’s Disaster Relief Fund provides financial assistance to ranchers in Texas and Oklahoma who are victims of a natural disaster and consequentially are financially needy or otherwise distressed. Assistance funds are designated for damage that occurred in disaster counties as declared by Texas. Producers must submit applications within 60 days of when the damage took place.
Texas Farm Bureau Texas Panhandle Wildfire Relief Fund
In an effort to help farmers and ranchers who have been affected by the fires, Texas Farm Bureau established the Texas Panhandle Wildfire Relief Fund. 100% of all donations received go directly to farmers and ranchers impacted by the fires. This program will collect and distribute monetary contributions only.

The Disaster Assessment and Recovery, DAR, unit in AgriLife Extension is a collaborative educational network dedicated to educating citizens about disaster mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery. DAR is a part of the Texas A&M System Keeping Texas Prepared initiative and is affiliated with National Extension Disaster Education Network.
