Keeping Texas Prepared: The Extension Agent Network
The objective of this legislative appropriations request is to maintain effective educational and emergency response to retain funding support for statewide network, enabling:
- Programs, tools and resources that teach people how to improve agriculture and food production, advance health practices, protect the environment, strengthen the economy and enrich youth.
- Support for statewide emergency and disaster response through readiness, response and recovery.
- Response to explosive population growth and increasing demand for services and educational programming.
Rural Student Access Initiative
The objective of this legislative appropriations request is to provide funding for new positions and for the expansion of participating rural school districts, allowing Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service agents and specialists to deliver the information, tools and strategies essential to improving post-secondary access in underserved rural communities in Texas.
