Overview

Do you know what to do if you have a bat encounter in your building? Bats are a high-risk animal group for transmitting rabies. Participants will learn the principles behind preventing or excluding colony establishment within buildings.

Course Information

Bats are a high-risk animal group for transmitting rabies and sometimes you may not know what to do if you have a bat encounter in your building.

Beginning and experienced IPM Coordinators, Master Naturalists, code enforcement agents, animal control specialists, pest management professionals, and teachers will learn about basic practices to address bats pest problems. This course will teach participants how to describe practices that relate IPM practices and bats as pests, perform bat removal and exclusion techniques, and solve bat problems by applying IPM techniques.

Certification Requirements

This course offers 1 General (Agricultural) CEU and 1 Pest Control (Structural) CEU from TDA. You must score a minimum of 70% on the post-test to earn the certificate and CEU credit.

Trainings may be enrolled in once every 3 years for renewing CEU credits.
