Overview
The tomato spotted wilt virus (TSWV) has remained an economically important plant disease-causing pathogen for decades, which is a virus widespread in the U.S. TSWV is distributed globally in almost all countries of the temperate, tropical, and sub-tropical climates. TSWV is transmitted in nature by several thrips, tiny and slender insects that may be winged or wingless, ranging in many colors. TSWV infections can occur in home gardens, protected areas (e.g., greenhouses and glasshouses), and open fields throughout the growing season. (3 Pages)
