Overview

This online course will enable cotton growers and pesticide applicators to identify signs of infestation of common insect pests.

Course Information

This online course shows cotton growers and pesticide applicators the signs of infestation of common insect pests like:

  • thrips,
  • cotton aphids,
  • fleahoppers,
  • lygus bugs,
  • stink bugs,
  • cotton bollworms,
  • tobacco worms,
  • spider mites, and
  • cutworms.

The presentations discuss helpful insects and cotton crop diseases.

At the end of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Collect field samples to discover pests;
  • Describe basic cotton growth and development;
  • Identify and treat common pests; and
  • Protect helpful insects and spot diseases.
