The Uvalde Research and Extension Center is home to research programs in the following key five areas:
- Vegetable production and physiology
- Systems plant physiology
- Breeding and genetics
- Cropping systems and physiology
- Wildlife Disease Ecology
The center also houses the Southwest District 10 Office. County extension agents provide educational resources and also conduct result demonstrations and applied research across the district.
