Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service is a statewide educational agency and a member of the Texas A&M University System linked by a unique partnership between the nationwide United States Department of Agriculture’s Cooperative System and the Cameron County Commissioners Court. Our Cameron County office is in the San Benito Annex Building on 1390 W. Expressway 83, San Benito, TX 78586.
The Texas A&M Extension Service in Cameron County strives to provide relevant, quality outreach as well as continuing education programs and services to the residents of Cameron County.
Extension brings the resources of the Texas A&M University system to Cameron County. Through field faculty, Extension provides unbiased information, educational programs, and technical assistance in the following core service areas: Agricultural and Natural Resources, Family and Community Health, Horticulture, 4-H Youth Development, Coastal and Marine Resources, Better Living for Texans, and the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program. Extension values and promotes principles of citizen and community involvement, scientifically-based education, lifelong learning, and volunteerism. To best address issues within Cameron County, Extension Service works cooperatively with the 10 Universities and 8 state agencies of the Texas A&M University System and other state-local agencies.
