Course Information
A high-quality early childhood program is designed so that every child can fully engage in activities that promote their physical, cognitive, language, and social-emotional development.
This 2-hour course examines key components of an appropriate environment for infants and toddlers, focusing specifically on how materials and activities can be modified, if necessary, to ensure that children with different developmental and functional needs can explore and learn.
During the course, participants will learn about:
- Using observation to make simple modifications to activities so every child can engage;
- Hidden messages in the early learning environment that can invite children to enjoy, experience, and learn;
- Key components of an appropriate environment for infants and toddlers, including those with disabilities; and
- Ideas for modifying materials and activities to meet the needs of a child with a disability.
This training course was developed and produced by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service of the Texas A&M University System in cooperation with the Texas Health and Human Services, Child Care Licensing Division, and using funds provided by the Texas Workforce Commission.
