New World Screwworm In Texas

While this development is significant, it is not unexpected. For more than a year, Texas A&M AgriLife has been preparing for this. An AgriLife internal task force has been bringing together the strengths of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, AgriLife Research, AgriLife Extension Service, Texas A&M Veterinary Diagnostic Lab and the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. Our experts have also been part of the Governor’s Texas New World Screwworm Response Team working alongside state and federal partners, commodity groups, veterinarians and producers to prepare for this possibility.
