Welcome to Rockwall County!

Rockwall County is located just east of Dallas. Named for the phenomenon of the “rock wall”, the county provides unique quality of life experiences for its residents. The Extension Program, as directed by the Rockwall County Leadership Advisory Board, strives to serve a diverse population from farmers/producers to suburban/urban dwellers. The west side of the county is made up of a portion of Lake Ray Hubbard.

Rockwall County is very unique in that it is the smallest county in the state geographically. However, it continues to be one of the fastest growing counties in the state demographically.

Extension emphasizes citizen involvement, lifelong learning, scientific education, and volunteerism. It operates in all 254 Texas counties and collaborates with public and private organizations to maximize impact.

Looking ahead, Extension envisions being the state’s leading outreach and education provider, addressing real-world issues in agriculture, environmental management, and quality of life. By leveraging technology and partnerships, Extension aims to be more efficient and effective in meeting the evolving needs of Texans.

Through its educational efforts, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will:

  • Improve the health, safety, and well-being of Texans,

  • Promote environmental stewardship and responsible natural resource use,

  • Support economic decision-making for individuals and communities,

  • Foster responsible, self-motivated youth and adults.

Extension remains committed to its land-grant mission in a dynamic and diverse society.
