This one-hour online course provides valuable information for potential vendors about the rules and regulations of selling food such as produce, eggs, baked goods, and more at Texas farmers' markets.
By completing this course, you will be able to:
- Understand the Farmers' Market Law
- Recognize common items sold at farmers' markets and the requirements to sell each item
- List foods that can and cannot be sold at a farmers' market
- Identify when a permit will be required
- Discuss basic food safety practices, which can be done on-site at the farmers' markets
- Review tips and materials needed for a successful booth at the farmers' market
Certification Requirements
To earn the Certificate of Completion, you will need to view all course modules.
This course is eligible for 1.0 CEU hour through the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR). To earn this credit, you must complete all of the course modules and pass the final exam with a minimum score of 70%. You will have 3 chances to pass the final exam.
