Getting started
- After you complete the registration process, you will receive an email with a link to your course where you can access the course introduction.
- Participants will have access to the course until two weeks after the course end date.
Pacing
- Self-Paced with All Lessons - This delivery method will allow you to see and access all the course materials and lessons at once. You will still be encouraged to work through the lessons weekly and participate each week, but you will have flexibility to move forward if needed. You will still receive course reminders and prompts with the weekly releases.
Overview
Step Up Scale Down is a 12-week online weight loss and wellness program. It promotes healthy weight loss and lifestyle habits based on USDA guidelines and scientific research to promote health and reduce your risk for chronic disease.
Each week focuses on a different topic related to nutrition, healthy eating, exercise, and more to support you in your weight loss journey.
Topics covered in this program include:
- Setting realistic and healthy goals
- How to calculate calorie needs for weight loss to reach a healthy weight
- Why fad diets are not recommended
- Portion sizes for adults
- How to read nutrition labels and identify food claims

The session will delve into the many uses for Appendix A, B and C, with particular focus on new and/or updated information in the latest edition of this resource.

A discussion of the effects of common misuse and combinations of misuse and its effect on pediatric injury. An analysis of the data was done to show which misuse is most dangerous for the different types of restraints including a comparison of injuries to children when using optimal restraints, suboptimal restraints and when unrestrained to see if the data supports current best practice recommendations.

This course provides information for certified child passenger safety technicians who wish to stay current in their technical knowledge. The course, presented in video format, features instructor and LATCH Manual author Denise Donaldson. This course is approved for 1 CEU towards the required 6 CEUS for re-certification.
