The Texas 4-H Foods & Nutrition Project empowers youth with culinary and nutrition skills to prepare nutritious foods while creating healthy eating patterns. Creating healthy eating patterns at an early age can help reduce the risk of chronic diseases, obesity, and poor nutrition in adulthood.

Program

The Texas 4-H Family & Community Health Program provides a variety of resources and opportunities to learn about nutrition, interior design, consumer education and more.

Program

Texas 4-H is part of Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and the Texas A&M University System. Founded in 1908, 4-H is the largest youth development program in Texas, reaching more than 550,000 youth each year.

Texas 4-H Youth Ambassador program is for high school 4-H members looking to develop and practice advanced skills in a variety of 4-H program areas.

Course

This session will explore the topic of using car seats in smaller vehicles. Some vehicles just aren’t suited for car seat use, while other times we can make adjustments to the vehicle and/or select certain car seats to improve compatibility. And, naturally, when multiple car seats are used in one vehicle, fit can become a problem, even in vehicles that aren’t considered tiny. Technicians will learn about general tips and explore some specific examples.

This course is designed to educate service providers of farmworkers on how to identify challenges and improve services for farmworkers with disabilities and chronic health conditions.

Course

A discussion of the effects of common misuse and combinations of misuse and its effect on pediatric injury. An analysis of the data was done to show which misuse is most dangerous for the different types of restraints including a comparison of injuries to children when using optimal restraints, suboptimal restraints and when unrestrained to see if the data supports current best practice recommendations.
