Course Information
This course is designed to assist child care providers in establishing positive partnerships with parents. Students will examine topics such as how to conduct initial parent-caregiver meetings, how to handle disagreements with parents, and how to maximize parental involvement in child care settings.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Describe the process of creating and facilitating the initial interview with prospective families.
- Create opportunities for daily exchanges of information with children's families.
- Explore positive communication techniques to use with families.
This course was updated with funding 100% provided by federal Child Care and Development Funds from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, as part of an $8,000,000 grant from the Texas Workforce Commission.
