Overview

Health and safety of children in care is the #1 priority for all early childhood professionals. Home-based child care has specific requirements that must be addressed to ensure health and safety practices are properly integrated into a home-based child care. This 2-hour course is for prospective home-based child care business owners and will introduce some of the health and safety standards, best practices, and ways to properly implement these in your home-based child care.

This 2-hour course is for prospective home-based child care business owners and will introduce some of the health and safety standards, best practices, and ways to properly implement these in your home-based child care. After completing this course, the learner will be able to: Describe and follow the Minimum Standards for health and safety for the type of child care home you decide to operate, and Describe and adopt best practices related to health and safety in your home-based child care setting. The development of this online course was 100% funded by federal Child Care and Development Funds from the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services, as part of an $8,000,000 grant from the Texas Workforce Commission.
