Overview

Plum leaf scald (PLS) is caused by the bacterium (Xylella fastidiosa). This organism causes disease symptoms in many plant species such as:

  • Peaches (Phony peach disease)
  • Oak
  • Elm
  • Maple
  • Almond
  • Sycamore trees (bacterial leaf scorch)
  • Coffee (bacterial leaf scorch)
  • Grape (Pierce's disease)
  • Citrus (citrus variegated chlorosis (yellowing))
