Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Anderson County is a partnership between Anderson County, the Texas A&M University System, and the United States Department of Agriculture. The mission of Texas Cooperative Extension in Anderson County is to improve the quality of life of residents through research-based information and education in Agriculture and Natural Resources, Family and Community Health, and 4-H and youth development. Local volunteers plan and carry out educational efforts based on community needs.

Agricultural and Natural Resources are a vital part of the economy for farm and ranch based businesses. We assist with land owner education based on your issues and have programs including: Pasture & Grazing Management, Livestock & Crop Production Systems, and Pesticide Training & Licensing.

4-H is an outstanding youth development organization of more than six million young people across America learning leadership, citizenship and life skills through various projects.

Family and Community Health or FCH offers programs to help your family in raising children, housing and environment, eating well, managing money, and all around staying healthy.

Anderson County 4-H Food Show - November 3, 2025
This event will be held at Norwood Heights Baptist Church (2214 State Hwy 155, Palestine) and is open to all 4-H members. Registration will be from 5:30-6:00 p.m. Entries must be completed by October 27th to participate. Master Gardener Fall Tree Sale - October 25, 2025
This event will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the parking lot behind the Federal Building (101 E. Oak Street, Palestine). Trees that do not sale will be available for purchase at the Farmers Market on Spring Street November 1st from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
