Overview

In this course, early childhood educators (ECE) will be provided an overview of Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and Attention Hyperactive Disorders as they occur in the context of early childhood. ECEs will also be provided with strategies for engaging with and managing behavior of the individual child.

Course Information

In this online course, early childhood educators (ECE) will be provided an overview of Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and Attention Hyperactive Disorders as they occur in the context of early childhood (children aged 0 to 3 years).

Specifically, ECEs will be familiarized with the definition, diagnosis, signs and symptoms of ADD/ADHD.

ECEs will also be acquainted with strategies for managing the individual child's behavior and engaging the child in individual play.

Finally, ECEs will learn about whole-classroom practices that enable the creation and maintenance of a safe learning environment for all children.
