Course Information

Intentional teaching means carefully planning the activities and experiences made available to children in early care and education settings. In this online course, you will:

  • Explore theories of classroom organization and what it means to manage a classroom including key elements that help to build success.
  • Discuss strategies for developing routines to help a classroom function smoothly as well as encourage independence and enhance learning.
  • Investigate the importance of child assessment and how to utilize the information gathered.
  • Develop skills for writing purposeful lesson plans that come to life in the classroom.

In the absence of qualified early care and education programs that offer nighttime care, these families may have to make challenging and precarious choices, choosing between maintaining their employment and leaving their children without the appropriate care.

    The purpose of this 2-hour course is to support early childhood program owners and directors through the process of incorporating extended hours of care, including overnight care, to support the needs of many families across Texas.
