Course Information
Early childhood educators strive to establish warm and secure relationships with the children in their care.
This online course offers strategies on getting to know individual children and building strong relationships with their families. Appropriate behavioral expectations for different age groups and strategies for supporting social and emotional development are also discussed.
Through recognizing the importance of exploration and play, providing scaffolding, and helping children learn positive social and emotional skills, teachers support children with responsive interactions and developmentally appropriate guidance so their play experiences are rewarding and beneficial. In conclusion, teachers identify effective communication-based strategies.
Funding for this 4-hour pre-service training course was provided by the Workforce Solutions as part of their Early Care and Education Quality Improvement initiative.
