This online course reviews safe cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting methods. The goal of the course is to reduce the spread of COVID-19 through best practices. This training emphasizes regulatory requirements, best practices, and steps for reducing or preventing contact with harmful chemicals.

Course Information

Learn required and recommended practices for child care homes that remain open during the COVID-19 pandemic in Texas. This online course reviews safe and effective cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting methods for reducing the spread of the virus that causes COVID-19. Information from key agencies, such as Texas Health and Human Services Commission and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, will be provided.

Specifically, course participants will learn the following:

  • how contact with chemicals commonly found in cleaning and disinfecting products may be harmful
  • how to identify ingredients considered safer
  • how to reduce the risk of harm while effectively using chemical products to destroy the virus

Information presented in this course will help you develop and put in place a plan for cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting to help reduce the spread of COVID-19. It will also help you protect children, staff, and those living in the home from harmful chemical exposures.
