Overview

A state law that went into effect September 1, 2015, allows small honey producers to sell their honey in Texas, under certain conditions, without having to obtain a state license as a food manufacturer or comply with all of the state regulations for food manufacturers. This publication explains the new law as well as other federal, state, and local restrictions that may apply to honey sales.
