The Rollins Urban and Structural Entomology Facility is a part of the Department of Entomology at Texas A&M University in College Station. It is the home of the Ed Vargo lab and the Robert Puckett Extension program. The facility conducts research to understand basic biological and ecological parameters that limit the growth of insect pests in urban environments. Faculty and graduate students at the facility focus on a range of urban and structural pests including termites, ants and cockroaches among others. They develop, implement and evaluate biological control systems and pesticides as part of an integrated pest management, or IPM, program. The group is also charged with developing and implementing technology transfer systems related to their innovations.
