Overview

This course explores regulations and best practices related to diapering, toilet learning, and handwashing, and suggests ideas for modifying these routines to meet the needs of children with disabilities in an inclusive infant or toddler program.

Course Information

Self-help routines such as diapering, toilet learning, and handwashing can help promote attachment, appropriate self-regulation, positive self-esteem, and autonomy.

This 2-hour online course explores regulations and best practices related to diapering, toilet learning, and hand washing, and suggests ideas for modifying these routines to meet the needs of children with disabilities in an inclusive infant or toddler program.

This course was developed and produced by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service of the Texas A&M University System in cooperation with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, Child Care Licensing Division, and using funds provided by the Texas Workforce Commission.
