Early care and education is a service profession with quality as the key ingredient. To provide quality services for children and families, early childhood professionals must:
- interact with children, parents, coworkers, and supervisors in professional ways which include providing quality service
- follow an ethical code of conduct
- make decisions based on knowledge and best practices
- utilize a professional development plan
