Overview
Caffeine is a substance that is often consumed by humans to increase alertness and reduce fatigue. It is also used as a therapeutic treatment for premature infants to improve heart, lung, and brain function. Caffeine is also given to cattle and is used as an effective method to evaluate the liver function of cows and calves.
