About Briscoe County

Nestled in the heart of the Texas Panhandle, Briscoe County is a rural community rich in history, natural beauty, and agricultural heritage. Established in 1876 and organized in 1892, the county is home to the scenic Caprock Canyons State Park, where dramatic red rock formations and native wildlife offer a glimpse into the rugged beauty of the region.

The county seat, Silverton, serves as the hub of local activity and community life. With a population of just under 1,500 residents, Briscoe County is known for its strong sense of community, deep agricultural roots, and commitment to education and youth development.
