The Well Church Initiative aims to be a trusted partner with churches that are serving the health and wellness needs of their congregations and surrounding communities. We provide Extension health education programming for physical and mental wellness, resources, and support for healthier living. While we specialize in supporting local churches, we also welcome partnerships with other faith-based organizations, places of worship, non-profit organizations, healthcare, and statewide agencies that are seeking to positively impact the health and wellness of their communities.
Currently, there are very few outlets for clergy, faith leaders, churches, and other places of worship to reach out to ask and receive health education programming specific to their needs. This gap was exacerbated throughout the pandemic, thus USDA funding helped us establish the Well Church Initiative, as well as launch the Well Church & Community Conference to engage local churches and their communities.
This website is not a digital learning platform or social marketing site, but rather a dedicated platform for Extension partnership and programming dedicated to church and community-focused education and resources that clergy, churches, and County Extension Agents can access for these efforts.
