Course Information
The purpose of this online course is to help early childhood professionals understand the problem of early childhood obesity and the role early childhood care and education settings can play in preventing it. It addresses science-based best practices that can be applied in any care and early education program.
Once you have completed this course, you should be able to:
- Describe health risks from early childhood obesity
- Identify opportunities to prevent early childhood obesity in early childhood education programs
- Describe how early childhood education systems can help
This course is aligned with the guidelines of the Texas Healthy Building Blocks recognition program. It was developed with funding from the Texas Department of State Health Services.
