Collin County

The mission of Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Collin County is to enhance residents’ quality of life through educational programs tailored to local needs in agriculture, environmental stewardship, life skills, leadership, and community economic development.
As part of the land-grant university system, Extension delivers research-based knowledge to promote self-improvement, informed decision-making, and community problem-solving. Programs are inclusive and available to all, regardless of socioeconomic status, race, gender, religion, disability, or national origin. This statewide agency is a partnership among Collin County Commissioners’ Court, the Texas A&M University System, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Extension emphasizes citizen involvement, lifelong learning, scientific education, and volunteerism. It operates in all 250 Texas counties and collaborates with public and private organizations to maximize impact.
Looking ahead, Extension envisions being the state’s leading outreach and education provider, addressing real-world issues in agriculture, environmental management, and quality of life. By leveraging technology and partnerships, Extension aims to be more efficient and effective in meeting the evolving needs of Texans.
Through its educational efforts, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will:

Promote environmental stewardship and responsible natural resource use,
Support economic decision-making for individuals and communities,
