Tarrant County
Tarrant County is an urban county with a population of 2,102,515 in July 2019 (U.S. Census Bureau). This includes two major Texas cities, Fort Worth with 873,130 residents and Arlington with 390,540 residents as well as 41 other municipalities (North Central Texas Council of Governments). Commercial Horticulture contributes to the local economy with a $121 million nursery and greenhouse plant production industry, $956 million in retail sales, and a $446 landscape maintenance and construction industry. 17,411 people are employed in these three segments.
