2026 annual fall tree sale. Pickup October 9 (Evening) and October 10 (Morning)
South Central Texas Cow-Calf Clinic

The 55^th annual clinic will take place at the Washington County Expo sales facility. Industry experts and extension specialists will present a variety of topics related to beef cattle production in our region. Don’t forget to purchase your scholarship drawing ticket. Some of this year’s prizes include a 500-gallon sprayer, Kawasaki Mule, and $500 gift cards. Waller County must sell so many tickets to ensure Waller Couty youth are eligible for the scholarship.
Quarterly Beef and Forage Dinner

Dates and topics for 2026 Quarterly Beef and Forage Dinner: Jan. 28 Preparing Forages for the Growing Season, April 29 Summer Plant ID and IPM, July 22 External Cattle Parasites, and Oct. 28 Winter Feeding Strategies. The location will be the extension office. Dinner will be served at 6 and program will be from 6:00-7:30. Call the extension office to register.
Private Pesticide Applicator Training

This training is designed for Private Pesticide applicators in Texas that want to obtain a Pesticide license. Training only, testing will not be offered during this training. Training is required for all private applicators prior to taking the private applicator exam by the Texas Department of Agriculture and administrated by Metro Institute. Testing procedures will be explained during the training.

The next training will occur on October 28 at the Waller Extension Office. Training will start at 8:30 and will finish around noon.
Roots to Results Landowners Program

The upcoming Landowners Program is designed not only for those who are new to owning or managing rural land, but also for individuals looking to refresh their knowledge or gain more information on land stewardship, management practices, and available resources. Whether you’re just starting out or have years of experience, this program offers valuable insights to help you make the most of your property. The fall 2026 schedule dates are to the right. All program registration starts at 8:30am and the program will begin at 9:00am. Ending at 4:00pm. Location for Friday October 20 will be Grimes County and Friday November 20 will be Lee County. South Central Texas AG Conference

This 5-hour CEU program will take place at the Grimes County Fair and Expo. on November 4. Topics will be smutgrass management, black vulture and beaver control, prescribed fire, and post drought management. To register call 936-873-3907 or [email protected] Waller County will be hosting the conference in February so make sure to be on the lookout for more information later this winter.
Cattle Husbandry and Handling Clinic

Make sure to save the date for this exciting clinic on December 2^nd. The clinic will be just north of Hempstead and will last from 2:30-7:00. Topics will include cattle hauling and trailer safety, chute side demonstrations, disaster planning, and roundtable with local ranchers and experts. Best part is a steak dinner will be served! Cost is $20 for individual and $30 for couple. Registration information will be available in November.
