Dates and topics for 2026 Quarterly Beef and Forage Dinner: Jan. 28 Preparing Forages for the Growing Season, April 29 Summer Plant ID and IPM, July 22 External Cattle Parasites, and Oct. 28 Winter Feeding Strategies. The location will be the extension office. Dinner will be served at 6 and program will be from 6:00-7:30. Call the extension office to register.

This training is designed for Private Pesticide applicators in Texas that want to obtain a Pesticide license. Training only, testing will not be offered during this training. Training is required for all private applicators prior to taking the private applicator exam by the Texas Department of Agriculture and administrated by Metro Institute. Testing procedures will be explained during the training.
The next training will occur on April 29 at the Waller Extension Office. Training will start at 8:30 and will finish around noon. Additional information and registration information will be available the first week of April.

Get the upper hand on garden pests and explore smart integrated pest management strategies. This free program is being sponsored by Waller County Master Gardeners and will take place at St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church in Hempstead.

Join us for the 2026 O.D. Butler Forage Field Day on Friday, May 15, 2026! The format for the day will be the same as last year. Registration will open at 7:30AM and the program will begin at 8:30AM. You will have time to visit the Ag industry booths and view farm equipment displayed on site throughout the day. We will provide lunch at noon and allow time for attendees to visit vendor booths. Three CEU’s (1 L&R, 2 Gen) will be awarded to eligible participants. Pre-registration with payment is required. The cost of the registration is $35 plus fees. You will need to enter your pesticide applicator license number when you register if you need CEU’s. If you would like to register by phone, please call our office at (936) 873-3907. Payment for registration can be sent to: 203 Veterans Memorial Drive, Navasota, Texas 77868. Checks will need to be made payable to: BAHPA. Payment must be received by 5PM on Wednesday, May 13th.
